Year 1 have been really busy learning and having fun. They would like to share some of the things they have been doing with you...
Year 1 have settled into their new routine and have been working super hard on their reading, writing and maths, as well as having lots of fun with other subjects. They have been making numbers up to 10 using ten frames, ordering numbers, discovering the concept of zero and ordering numbers from the smallest to the largest. They have also written some fabulous stories based on a book called Eddy and his lost teddy.
They enjoyed making homes from clay in Topic (using rubbings from different textures) and have been discovering all about different materials and their properties in our Science lessons.
They had enormous fun making chocolate cornflakes for our Macmillan Coffee Morning (especially the tasting and sticky part).
With their hard work and jam packed days, it is no wonder Year 1 are all worn out by the weekend.
We continue to be super busy in Year 1...
We have had an amazing visit to Tynemouth Aquarium where we got hands on with some sea creatures.
We were TV chefs and designed our own pizza, then made them infront of the camera.
We had a Royal Tea party where we made our own food and then sat and ate it in our Royal Ballroom with the King and Queen.
